The Silence Of The Slumbering

Today has been an interesting day, lots of tears, numerous fights broken out between the toddlers, and too much whining, making for a very frazzled Sarah.
Deep breathes.
Many of them.

Let us review the personalities of the house:

The youngest is Jude. Twenty one months old, and full of energy. Bless his little heart, that boy is affectionate. He loves everyone once he has warmed up to you and gotten to know you, and he gives out hugs like they are going out of style. He shares well, takes turns, and listens to his mommy, well, most of the time. He also has a very quick temper. Firey temper. Bitter temper.
Yes, my son.
Speaking of, he just woke up.

On to the twins.
Now, to keep privacy as it should be, I am going to change their names.
Erin and Casey. They are almost three.
Very cute, petite, and beautiful girls.

Erin is quiet, reserved, and sweet. She likes to just sit and cuddle, and just be with you. Heart of gold she has. She shares well, she is getting better at it, and she likes to help out. She also has immaculate talent at giving the silent treatment. Wow, she is good at it! Get on her bad side, and she will not talk to you for the rest of the day.

Casey is loud, boisterious, and energetic. Puts copious amounts of passion into everything she does. When she laughs, its a head-back-giant-grin-laugh-that-could-melt-your-heart kind. She loves to make people laugh, and be silly. She also plays well on her own, and she enjoys playing with little cars. She can also melt down into hysteric whining over nothing. It is realy quite impressive. Any little thing, and the world is ending.

But now, the house is quiet. Not a sound is made by the occupants of this house. The only sounds you can hear are the keyboard clicks, a distant analog clock ticking on a wall, and the hum of a kitchen fan.
Peaceful.
Silent.
Thank God.
Reminds me of the quote from Batman: The Dark Knight (Yes, I am a huge nerd!)
Harvey Dent: The night is darkest just before the dawn.

Life may be loud, chaotic, hectic, and make you feel like you are Dorothy in the tornado in The Wizard Of Oz, but it always calms down.
I know for myself, when it calms down, even as little as an hour long nap, I barely notice, let alone thank God for it.
But today, today I thank God for that period of time that all three children slept at once.
